PetroNor Reports Improved Production Yield in Congo Operations

PetroNor E&P ASA has achieved notable improvements in operational efficiency at its Congo operations, despite a modest decline in overall production volumes during the second quarter of 2025.

The company generated an average of 4,240 barrels of oil per day net working interest production from its operations in the PNGF Sud field complex in Congo during the second quarter. This represents a slight decrease from the 4,303 barrels per day recorded in the previous quarter and 4,684 barrels per day in the second quarter of 2024.

However, the operational yield improved significantly to 90 percent, marking a substantial enhancement from the 2024 average of 86 percent. This improvement demonstrates PetroNor’s success in optimizing production efficiency despite the overall volume decline.

The company is actively pursuing production restoration through two workover crews focused on reinstating idle production from wells in the workover queue. These efforts are expected to contribute to production stability and potential increases in coming quarters.

During the first half of the year, PetroNor successfully restocked its significant overlift position and is currently building entitlement oil inventory in preparation for a lifting and sale scheduled for the fourth quarter. This strategic inventory management approach supports the company’s revenue optimization efforts.

Operations have commenced for an announced five-well infill drilling program in Tchibouela East, with the Rig Axima now on location. This program is expected to add significant new production capacity during the second half of the year, potentially offsetting current production declines.
