Nigeria and Egypt Showcase Clean Energy Solutions Through Technology Exchange
Egypt’s Natural Gas Vehicles Company (Cargas) hosted a delegation from Nigeria’s petroleum sector, providing comprehensive briefings on Egyptian experience in converting vehicles to compressed natural gas technology. The visit represents part of expanding cooperation between the two African nations in alternative energy solutions.
The Nigerian delegation received detailed explanations of conversion mechanisms and modern technologies, along with comprehensive reviews of environmental and economic benefits associated with natural gas as a clean, cost-effective fuel alternative. Cargas specializes in converting gasoline-powered vehicles to CNG operation while operating and expanding fueling station networks across Egypt.
The technology exchange builds upon recent agreements between the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation to expand future cooperation and increase Egyptian petroleum companies’ contributions to Nigerian development projects. This cooperation leverages Egyptian companies’ extensive experience operating projects across various African countries.
The partnership particularly benefits from Egyptian Projects Operation and Maintenance’s strong track record in operating Nigerian refineries, providing a solid foundation for expanded collaboration in clean energy technologies and infrastructure development.
