Zallaf Libya Nears Completion of New Al-Shadar Oil Well as It Pushes to Lift Output

Zallaf Libya Oil Exploration, Production and Refining Company says it is close to completing the A-6-C126 well at the Al-Shadar field, expected to add around 1,400 barrels of oil per day, as part of a wider push to increase the company’s oil and gas production.

The update came during Zallaf’s 2026 technical and financial review with the National Oil Corporation, which covered performance indicators, ongoing and upcoming projects, and the company’s targets and budget for 2027. The meeting also reviewed progress on the Al-Atshan field and further work at Al-Shadar.

NOC officials directed Zallaf’s technical teams to accelerate project implementation to support the company’s production targets, with technical and financial specialists from Libya Technology Company, Al-Jouf Company and the Oil Research Center also taking part.
