TotalEnergies Advises Egypt on Enhanced Petroleum Transportation Safety

Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, met with TotalEnergies Marketing Egypt (TEME) representatives to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in safe transportation of petroleum products. The meeting included Thomas Strauss, TEME’s outgoing Managing Director, and his successor Mutaz Nazzal.

The discussions focused on leveraging TEME’s advanced expertise in safe transportation following an agreement signed with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC). The agreement ensures specialized consulting services to improve safety standards in the petroleum product transportation system according to the latest international standards.

TotalEnergies representatives praised the significant infrastructure development and road network construction over the past decade, expressing the company’s desire to provide necessary equipment and supplies to support infrastructure projects and enhance cooperation in aircraft refuelling services. A joint working group will be formed to follow up on enhancing cooperation between Egypt’s petroleum sector and the company.

TEME operates as a 50/50 joint venture between TotalEnergies Marketing Afrique, a subsidiary of TotalEnergies SE, and the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company for Distribution (ADNOC Distribution).
