Libya’s Vital Oil Pipeline Roars Back to Life After Emergency Repairs

Libya’s energy sector received a major boost as the National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced the successful restart of a crucial crude oil pipeline connecting the Hamada oilfield to Zawiya refinery following emergency maintenance work.

The pipeline had been temporarily shut down after technical teams discovered a leak, but operations resumed smoothly after repairs were completed by the Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) over a two-day period. The NOC confirmed that operations are now meeting high standards of safety and efficiency, with crude flow returning to normal levels.

Technical teams continue environmental cleanup efforts at the spill site under direct supervision from NOC specialists. The first stage of removing spilled oil has been completed, with further remediation work ongoing in coordination with relevant departments.

The Hamada-Zawiya pipeline represents a vital component of Libya’s oil infrastructure. Stretching 387 kilometers with an 18-inch diameter, it plays a strategic role in ensuring uninterrupted transport of crude oil to key refineries and processing centers across the country.

The swift resolution of this technical issue demonstrates Libya’s commitment to maintaining reliable energy production despite ongoing challenges in the region.
