Cameroon Opens Nine-Block Licensing Round for 2025
Cameroon’s National Hydrocarbons Corporation has launched the country’s 2025 licensing round, offering nine exploration blocks across two major basins. The blocks include Ndian River, Bolongo Exploration and Bakassi in the Rio del Rey Basin, alongside Etinde, Bomono, Nkombe-Nsepe, Tilapia, Ntem and Elombo in the Douala/Kribi-Campo Basin.
Data consultation and evaluation by interested companies runs from September 1, 2025 through March 15, 2026, with proposal submission deadline set for March 30, 2026. Results are expected April 24, 2026.
Exploration contracts for most blocks will be valid for three years, renewable twice with two-year extensions each. However, Bakassi, Kombe-Nsepe and Ndiani river blocks offer five-year initial periods, also renewable twice with two-year extensions.
