AIS BARDOT SCORES MAJOR WIN WITH TOTAL’S ANGOLA DEEP-SEA PROJECT
AIS Bardot has secured another significant contract from Saipem Group for Total’s ambitious Kaminho project in Angola, delivering cutting-edge technology that could revolutionize offshore operations.
The latest award involves manufacturing and supplying three complete hybrid riser lines, each stretching 100 meters, designed to pump crucial seawater for cooling essential equipment and preventing overheating in the Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit.
In a game-changing innovation, AIS is deploying high-density polyethylene instead of traditional rubber and steel materials, resulting in dramatically lighter equipment that reduces operating costs and energy consumption. The company emphasizes that these water intake risers are precisely engineered to meet specific requirements for water depth, temperature, and flow rate while withstanding the harsh hydrodynamic stresses of the operational environment.
The advanced riser systems are designed for easy installation with extended lifespans and zero maintenance requirements, representing a significant technological leap in offshore operations. This engineering breakthrough could set new industry standards for deep-sea petroleum extraction efficiency.
The Kaminho project adds to Angola’s growing portfolio of sophisticated offshore developments, reinforcing the country’s position as a major player in Africa’s oil and gas sector.
