US Firm Secures Major Role in $8 Billion Libyan Gas Development
Hill International has been selected by Mellitah Oil and Gas to provide project management services for the massive $8 billion Structures A & E project off Libya’s coast. The ambitious development involves two offshore gas fields targeting 750 million cubic feet per day output, with production expected to begin in 2026.
The project includes construction of two offshore drilling platforms, infrastructure for gas transmission to the existing Mellitah Complex 100 kilometers west of Tripoli, and a new carbon capture and storage facility. Hill International CEO Raouf Ghali emphasized the company’s commitment to delivering infrastructure change in Libya while ensuring energy security for the region.
This development aims to boost Libya’s domestic energy supply and increase gas exports to Europe, strengthening regional energy security and supply reliability. The project represents a significant step forward in Libya’s energy sector recovery and expansion efforts.
