Uganda National Oil Company Opens Joint Venture Partnership Search
The Uganda National Oil Company Limited is actively seeking joint venture partners for petroleum exploration and production activities in the Kasuruban Contract Area, following successful completion of its first exploration phase work program.
UNOC, established in 2015 as a wholly government-owned entity, holds 100% participating interest in the Production Sharing Agreement for the area. The company recently secured a two-year license renewal through March 2027 for the second exploration phase.
The first phase delivered an aggressive work program including geological and geophysical studies, petrophysical analysis, reservoir characterization, basin analysis, and resource assessment. The second phase work program encompasses reprocessing existing 2D seismic data, acquiring additional 2D seismic data, and drilling at least one exploratory well.
Interested entities must demonstrate proven track records in petroleum exploration and production operations. Companies seeking partnership opportunities must submit proposals including company profiles and power of attorney documentation to jvexploration@unoc.com by 17:00 hours East African Time on July 28, 2025.
The joint venture opportunity represents Uganda’s strategy to leverage private sector expertise while maintaining state participation in the country’s petroleum development.
