TGS Secures Major Indonesian Seismic Survey Contract
TGS has been awarded a substantial streamer contract to acquire approximately 10,000 square kilometers of 3D seismic data offshore Indonesia, representing one of the company’s largest recent survey awards in Southeast Asian waters. The comprehensive eight-month campaign will combine exploration objectives with production monitoring activities.
The survey will utilize one of TGS’s advanced Ramform vessels equipped with Geostreamer technology, with operations scheduled to commence during the fourth quarter. The majority of the campaign focuses on exploration purposes, while the final phase, lasting approximately one month, will involve 4D seismic data acquisition for production monitoring at existing fields.
The project underscores the growing importance of advanced seismic imaging in unlocking hydrocarbon potential in frontier basins and optimizing production from existing discoveries. TGS’s Ramform vessel technology and Geostreamer capabilities position the company as a leader in high-quality seismic data acquisition, particularly in challenging deepwater environments.
