ReconAfrica Advances Namibian Exploration Campaign
Reconnaissance Energy Africa Ltd has provided updates on its Kavango West 1X exploration well in Namibia, with drilling operations proceeding on schedule since spudding in July. The well is currently drilling the 8.5-inch section at approximately 1,910 meters depth.
Company President and CEO Brian Reinsborough confirmed that operations are progressing efficiently and safely, with expectations to reach total depth by late November. The drilling plan includes penetrating the Otavi reservoir, the primary target for the Damara Fold Belt Play, in October with plans to drill approximately 1,500 meters of potential reservoir section.
The final casing string will be set at approximately 2,400 meters before entering the Otavi reservoir zone. Total depth is projected between 3,800-4,250 meters, with well results expected around year-end.
