Oil Majors Reaffirm Long-Term Commitment to Angola’s Energy Future

Leading international operators have reinforced their dedication to Angola’s next phase of exploration and production development. ExxonMobil, which has produced over 2.5 billion barrels in the country, signed a license extension for Block 15 in 2025 and invested in the frontier Namibe basin. Country Manager Katrina Fisher emphasized the company’s commitment to “many more years in Angola” after three decades of operations.

TotalEnergies enhanced its production capacity with two major projects adding 60,000 barrels per day to the market in 2025. Country Manager Martin Deffontaines noted that Angola has driven global oil and gas industry progress, with TotalEnergies maintaining its pioneering partnership with the country.

National oil company Sonangol continues advancing onshore and offshore developments while serving as a vehicle for broader economic development across various sectors. Chevron remains focused on natural gas development strategy, with offshore projects feeding the Angola LNG facility operating near maximum capacity.
