Oil Discovery Bolsters Libya’s Ghadames Basin Operations
The National Oil Corporation has confirmed a significant new oil discovery in the Ghadames basin following successful drilling operations across three strategic wells for Sonatrach-Sipex partnership. The discovery comes as part of an Integrated Project Management approach involving local and international companies.
The project has also seen the reactivation of drilling rigs No. 13, 12, and 33, returning valuable assets to the company’s operational fleet. NOC leadership emphasized that these strategic partnerships strengthen Sonatrach’s reputation as a reliable partner in major drilling operations, particularly through integrated systems that meet international standards.
The discovery is expected to boost revenues and enhance competitiveness in Libya’s local energy market as the country continues to rebuild its oil infrastructure.
