Naval Barge Capsizes in Gulf of Suez

A tragic accident has struck Egypt’s oil sector as the barge “Adam Marine 12” belonging to an oil rig capsized in the Jabal Al-Zeit area of the Gulf of Suez. Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources confirmed the incident, which has resulted in four fatalities and multiple injuries.

Ministry spokesperson Moataz Atef announced that emergency response protocols have been activated immediately following the capsizing. Coordination is currently underway with the Ministry of Health regarding casualty reports. The injured victims have been transferred to local hospitals for treatment.

The barge belonged to OSUCO company, which reported the incident to the Ministry. This marks a significant maritime accident in one of Egypt’s key oil production areas, raising concerns about safety protocols in offshore operations.
