Infinity Power Secures Major Solar Win in Côte d’Ivoire with 80MW Dual-Project Deal
Infinity Power has signed concession agreements for two landmark solar photovoltaic projects in Côte d’Ivoire, marking the company’s first collaboration with the West African nation’s government. The 80-megawatt combined capacity projects in Touba and Laboa were awarded under the World Bank’s Scaling Solar initiative through a competitive tender process.
The agreements were formalized by Minister of Mines, Petroleum and Energy Mamadou Sangafowa-Coulibaly and Infinity Power Deputy CEO Ahmed Mulla, with key representatives from the International Finance Corporation and World Bank in attendance. The projects include construction of 17 kilometers of power transmission lines essential for grid integration.
Once operational, the solar plants will supply electricity to over 400,000 Ivorian consumers while avoiding more than 60,000 tons of carbon dioxide annually. The initiative represents a significant step toward Côte d’Ivoire’s climate commitments and energy security goals.
Infinity Power’s competitive bid ensured affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy supply, supporting the country’s decarbonization objectives. The company continues advancing toward its ambitious goal of developing 10 GW of renewable energy projects by 2030.
