Heritage Energy Surges to 55,000 Barrels Daily Despite Equipment Setbacks
Heritage Energy Oil Services achieved impressive output of 55,000 barrels of oil per day in June 2025 from its operated Oil Mining Lease 30, despite facing significant equipment challenges that threatened production targets.
The company’s ambitious work program aims to boost crude oil production from an average of 47,000 barrels per day in 2024 to 70,000 barrels per day within two to three years, and ultimately 100,000 barrels per day within five years. While two rigs, Geoplex’s T 57 and Tansaniola’s Hilong 7, performed well, Wellsmart’s rig 151 proved problematic and was demobilized after spending over 60 days without significant accomplishment.
The setback was overcome when Charvlon’s Rig Discovery 203 finally rigged up on Olomoro 41 after a three-month delay due to community issues. With three active rigs, Heritage Energy became one of the busiest four operators on the Nigerian oil patch, representing a significant shift for OML 30, which had not witnessed a single well campaign in the decade between 2014 and 2024.
Heritage Energy plans to drill nine infill wells in 2025, part of a total of 50 infill wells scheduled for 2025-2030.
