Future Union Qatar Commits $3 Billion to IESL-Led LNG Project in Nigeria

Investment entity firm Future Union Qatar is investing $3 billion in the development of pan-African energy services company International Energy Services Limited’s LNG project in Nigeria. The financing will support the phased rollout of the LNG project over the next decade, strengthening Nigeria’s gas production and export capacity while creating jobs across the value chain.

The agreement aligns with Nigeria’s Decade of Gas initiative, which seeks to monetize the country’s 200 trillion cubic feet of proven gas reserves to enhance energy security and drive economic growth. The deal also deepens energy cooperation between Nigeria and Qatar and underscores growing cross-border investment ties in the gas sector.

Princess Adebowale Odutola, Chairman of Elan Vert Nigeria Ltd and spokesperson of Future Union Holdings, the operational arm of Future Union Qatar, stated that the agreement reinforces investor confidence in Nigeria’s energy sector and demonstrates Future Union’s commitment to long-term, sustainable development in the country.
