Eni Expands Congo Operations with New Yasika Logistics Platform

Italian energy major Eni has strengthened its operational capabilities in the Republic of Congo through the inauguration of the Yasika logistics platform, a strategic facility designed to support the company’s growing onshore and offshore activities in the region. The platform, commissioned on June 11, is located at oilfield service company Saipem’s base in Pointe-Noire.

The Yasika facility serves as the operational hub for Eni Congo’s diverse activities, ensuring efficient transit of equipment, materials, and personnel. The platform plays a crucial role in supporting the Congo LNG project, including operations for the Tango FLNG unit, which has been producing 0.6 million tons per year since December 2023, and the upcoming Nguya FLNG unit, expected to begin production by the end of 2025.

The comprehensive facility spans 190,000 square meters and includes a 285-meter quay, 1,000 square meters of office space, 16,000 square meters of covered areas and workshops, a dedicated jetty for marine transport, and a specialized treatment unit for drilling muds and cements. The site also hosts the fabrication of midwater arch structures, which are built locally to support LNG transport infrastructure.

The Yasika platform represents Eni’s continued commitment to the Republic of Congo’s energy sector and demonstrates the company’s strategy of developing local capabilities to support its growing LNG operations in the region.
