Egypt Strikes Oil Gold: Agiba Petroleum Adds 4,100 Barrels Daily from New Well

Egyptian oil production received a major boost as Agiba Petroleum Company successfully brought the “Arcadia-28” well online, adding an estimated 4,100 barrels of oil equivalent per day to the nation’s output following a precision acid stimulation operation completed on July 19, 2025.

The achievement represents a significant milestone in Egypt’s drive to maximize domestic petroleum production, with the well targeting the “Masajid Carbonate” formation in the Western Desert using advanced techniques similar to those employed in the successful “Iris” well discovery.

Agiba Petroleum, a joint venture between the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and IEOC (part of Italian Eni), hailed the production increase as validation of its ongoing development and expansion initiatives within the company’s concession areas.

The success aligns with the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ first strategic pillar to boost local petroleum resource production, as companies across the sector intensify efforts to increase production rates and secure the nation’s energy independence.
