Egypt Launches “Takamol” Digital Platform to Transform Petroleum Sector Operations
The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has launched the “Takamol” platform for information technology integration, introducing a comprehensive cloud computing solution designed to revolutionize operations across the oil, gas, and mineral resources industries.
Ahmad Moharram, Takamol Project Manager, revealed that the platform serves 150 companies and more than 250,000 employees, providing an integrated work environment with three main services focused on enhancing efficiency, collaboration, and sector-wide connectivity. The scope of these services encompasses the full technology stack, including software, platform, and infrastructure components.
Moharram noted that the petroleum and mineral resources sector was among the first in Egypt to invest in digital transformation, highlighting that this project aligns with Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi’s philosophy regarding the necessity of an integrated work environment. He emphasized Takamol’s ability to serve all sectors while supporting multi-tenancy, ensuring that each company’s data remains independent and fully secure within the integrated system.
The platform delivers numerous benefits to companies, including cost reduction, unification of licensing, operational efficiency, robust multi-tenancy capabilities, and enhanced cybersecurity. Moharram stated that Takamol aims to achieve economic efficiency, raise technological capabilities, and build a foundation for expansion and future innovations across Egypt’s petroleum and mineral resources sector.
