Egypt and UAE Forge Stronger Energy Partnership Through Ministerial Cooperation
Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi met with UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohamed El Mazrouei in Abu Dhabi to explore expanded cooperation opportunities across the energy sector. The high-level discussions resulted in agreement to establish a joint working group focused on exchanging best practices and success stories between the two nations.
The meeting advances Egypt’s strategic goals of fostering regional and international cooperation for energy security while leveraging the country’s infrastructure as a regional energy hub. Minister Badawi extended an invitation to his UAE counterpart to visit Egypt, signaling the commitment to deepening bilateral energy ties.
The cooperation builds on existing agreements, including last year’s arrangement with the Emirate of Fujairah that saw Egypt receive its first oil tanker under the new partnership framework. The deal involves developing petroleum logistics capabilities at Egypt’s Mediterranean Hamra Port, utilizing Egypt’s strategic geographical location and petroleum sector infrastructure.
