Egypt Advances West El Burullus Gas Field Development with New Offshore Platform

The PetroWeb-operated West El Burullus Gas Field Development Project in Idku has achieved a significant milestone with the successful installation of the WEB Offshore Platform by Petroleum Marine Services.

The complex marine operation utilized massive equipment including barge PMS 12 and several specialized support vessels to deploy a 345-ton jacket and install a 431-ton deck. This installation represents a crucial step toward Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources’ production optimization goals.

The project previously saw the placement of an 8-inch subsea pipeline, spearheaded by PMS 11, which is specifically designed for subsea pipeline laying and platform installation. Plans are underway for laying a 14-inch pipeline with a total length of 32 kilometers, while a second platform called Papyrus will further boost production capacity.

Petroleum Marine Services has been instrumental in driving major national projects across both the Red Sea and the Mediterranean, including significant contributions to the development of giant gas fields, most notably Phases 10 and 11 of the West Delta Deep Marine Gas Field Development.
