Dangote Refinery Launches Revolutionary Free Fuel Distribution Scheme Across Nigeria

In a groundbreaking move set to transform Nigeria’s fuel landscape, Africa’s largest oil refinery owned by billionaire Aliko Dangote is launching its highly anticipated free fuel distribution scheme starting Monday. The Dangote refinery has simultaneously slashed petrol prices to N841 per litre in Lagos and the South West, with prices dropping to N851 per litre in Abuja, Edo, Kwara, Rivers and Delta States.

The ambitious distribution program, which was originally scheduled for August but delayed due to logistics challenges in China, will initially cover the South West region, Federal Capital Territory Abuja, and several key states including Kwara, Delta, Rivers and Edo. Over 1,000 trucks have already been received by the refinery to commence the groundbreaking program, with additional states expected to benefit as more trucks arrive in Nigeria.

“We are starting the free fuel distribution scheme on Monday. We will start with Lagos and the South West, Abuja, Kwara, Delta, Rivers and Edo States. There will be a drop in price effective on Monday when the free distribution starts,” confirmed Anthony Chiejina, Dangote Group spokesman.

The refinery has also announced plans for a massive 10,000 CNG-powered truck roll-out this year to boost logistics strength and reduce costs across the distribution value chain, despite recent price fluctuations in the CNG market.
