Cameroon Offshore Drilling Campaign Set to Begin with Advanced Jack-Up Rig
Tower Resources Cameroon SA is preparing for an important offshore drilling campaign with the booking of ADES Holding’s Admarine 510 jack-up rig for the NJOM-3 well on the Thali license, scheduled to commence in Q4 2025.
The state-of-the-art rig, built in 2019, is a GustoMSC CJ-46-X100-D triangular design three-legged jackup unit capable of operating in water depths up to 375 feet. It is currently docked in Bahrain undergoing its mandatory five-yearly recertification project before deployment.
“We are delighted to make this award, and are looking forward to working with ADES on the NJOM-3 well this year,” said Jeremy Asher, CEO and chairman of Tower Resources, noting that the rig selection process was complicated by coordination efforts with other regional operators.
The Admarine 510 has also been contracted by Addax Petroleum for operations in Cameroon later in the year, with Tower Resources aiming to utilize the rig before Addax Petroleum’s scheduled time. The arrangement represents a collaborative approach among oil and gas companies operating in the region.
