Azule Energy Achieves Major Milestone with First Oil Shipment from Agogo Hub

Azule Energy has successfully shipped the first cargo from its Agogo Integrated West Hub development project in Block 15/06, located in Angola’s Lower Congo Basin. The milestone shipment received official approval from Angolan President João Lourenço and was presided over by senior government officials including Minister of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas Diamantino Azevedo.

The Agogo IWH project officially began production in August 2025, completing the full-field development of the Agogo and Ndungu fields. Together, these fields contain approximately 450 million barrels of oil in reserves with expected peak production reaching around 180,000 barrels per day.

“This project is a testament to our commitment to responsibly explore and develop our natural resources,” said Minister Azevedo. “It represents not only a technical achievement but also reinforces Angola’s position as a leading energy hub in Africa.”

Azule Energy operates the project with a 36.84% stake, working alongside partners Sonangol E&P (36.84%) and Sinopec International (26.32%). The successful development highlights Angola’s continued growth in offshore oil production and demonstrates the country’s ability to attract major international investment in its energy sector.
