Agiba Petroleum Hits Record 44,196 Barrels Per Day in Egypt’s Western Desert

In a stunning display of operational excellence, Agiba Petroleum has achieved a remarkable production milestone, reaching 44,196 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d) in May 2025, marking the highest daily production in the company’s history. This breakthrough comes as Egypt intensifies efforts to boost domestic energy production and reduce costly imports.

The achievement was announced during a high-level meeting at the company’s Nasr City headquarters, attended by Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi. Agiba Chairman Tharwat El Gendy revealed that the company is now targeting an ambitious average daily production of 30,000 boe/d throughout the upcoming fiscal year 2025/26.

The production surge is supported by significant infrastructure investments, including a new 45,000 barrels per day water treatment plant and upgraded safety systems. Looking ahead, Agiba is constructing a game-changing gas processing plant capable of handling 100 million cubic feet per day, alongside a crucial crude oil pipeline to Hamra Port.

The success story reflects the strategic partnership between Italy’s Eni and Egypt’s EGPC, demonstrating how international collaboration can unlock Egypt’s vast energy potential in the Western Desert region.
