AfDB Injects $10m Into Namibia’s Green Hydrogen Ambitions

The African Development Bank has approved a $10 million investment to help kick-start Namibia’s large-scale green hydrogen project, aimed at positioning the country as a major player in the global green hydrogen market. The project intends to use Namibia’s abundant solar and wind resources to produce thousands of tons of green hydrogen annually.

The Bank’s funding is expected to help build out infrastructure and develop a skilled local workforce, with officials anticipating it will draw further interest from private investors. The project is also expected to create jobs and support Namibia’s local economy as it scales up production.
