Mauritania Renews Strategic Hydrocarbon Supply Partnership
The Mauritanian government has renewed its hydrocarbon supply contract with Oryx Energies following Litasco’s withdrawal from the bidding process. Under this renewed arrangement, Oryx Energies continues its supply agreement, maintaining the relationship established under the previous contract covering April 2018 to April 2019.
The National Commission of Hydrocarbons, operating under the Ministry of Petroleum, Energy, and Mines, retains exclusive authority over hydrocarbon imports into the country. This centralized control ensures regulatory oversight and maintains supply chain integrity for the nation’s energy needs.
The contract renewal ensures continuity in Mauritania’s hydrocarbon supply chain, maintaining stability for both energy markets and broader economic planning initiatives. The decision provides security for ongoing energy infrastructure development and supports the country’s economic stability during a period of regional energy market volatility.
