Nigerian Oil Firm Promises Revival of Dormant Wells
Kenyon International, a Nigerian oil services company, has announced ambitious plans to focus on reviving dormant oil wells and deploying flexible pipeline technologies to support Nigeria’s refining capacity and harness the full hydrocarbon value chain.
Dr. Victor Ekpenyong, Founder and CEO of Kenyon International, made these commitments during the company’s 10th anniversary celebration in Lagos, reaffirming the firm’s dedication to innovation and growth in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
Ekpenyong emphasized the need for Nigeria to maximize its oil and gas resources before fully embracing energy transition, projecting that the next decade would be characterized by innovation and strategic partnerships aimed at boosting Nigeria’s production to over three million barrels per day.
“Nobody should push us to abandon our God-given natural resources prematurely. We must extract, process, and consume what we have to industrialize before thinking of transition,” Ekpenyong stated.
The company, which began operations in 2015, has grown into a critical player in Nigeria’s oil and gas services industry. Ekpenyong noted that Nigeria currently produces over one million barrels of oil daily, with Kenyon International contributing to that stability. The firm remains active in brownfield operations and leverages both local and foreign technology to maximize output from aging assets.
