Aquaterra Energy Extends Egyptian Offshore Contract for Two Years

British offshore engineering specialist Aquaterra Energy has secured a two-year extension to its offshore analysis services contract with a major Egyptian operator, continuing a successful partnership that began in 2023. The expanded scope will support ongoing subsea well campaigns drilled from semi-submersible rigs, ensuring optimized performance and safety standards.

Since the original contract, Aquaterra has delivered comprehensive riser and subsea well conductor analysis across seven separate well locations. The company’s achievements include managing conductor strength under vessel drift scenarios, guiding optimizations in casing grade and joint configurations, and collaborating with rig and risk assessment teams to refine operating guidelines.

Martin Harrop, Offshore Analysis Manager at Aquaterra Energy, highlighted the importance of continuing the relationship with one of the region’s key operators. The collaboration has focused on delivering targeted analysis to support safe and efficient well operations in technically complex environments.

A key enabler of project success has been Aquaterra’s proprietary ORANGE analysis platform, which streamlines OrcaFlex-based modeling with automated dynamic simulations, post-processing, and code compliance checks. The platform has facilitated assessments of multiple wellhead extension joint designs and seasonal environmental sensitivities, supporting equipment selection and rig scheduling decisions.

The company maintains high performance ratings on the FPAL platform, with an overall score of 9.1 out of 10 and customer interface rating of 9.2.
