Nigeria, Africa’s largest economy, is set to amplify its digital trade efforts, a pivotal element in the country’s ambitious economic expansion plans. As the country pushes forward with the widespread implementation of digital payment solutions, there is an optimistic outlook for regional trade growth. Trade and Investment Minister, Jumoke Oduwole, expressed confidence in the reforms under the current administration.

Leading digital initiatives, Oduwole transitions from her successful eight-year stint improving the ease of doing business in Nigeria. Her strategic vision involves layering automation and digitization over foundational processes and integrating modern infrastructure projects. “The coastal road and rail projects are examples of how we’re cutting costs for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Ensuring large businesses and MSMEs work harmoniously in our ecosystem is crucial,” Oduwole remarked. Minister Oduwole remains focused on streamlining the regulatory environment.

She highlighted a groundbreaking overhauling of Nigeria’s tax regime, marking the first comprehensive reform in the sector’s history.
